Simple Sales Advice

Intro to adsense

If you are new to internet marketing, you may not know what Google Adsense is or how to use it. If you type in those magic words into a Google search you will see 18,400 references at this moment in time. When you click on almost any web page, you will see ads on many places on the page with a very small "ads by Google" next to the ads.

These are Google adsense ads and represent an ad placed by someone hoping to entice you to click on the ad and hence to draw you to their site. These publishers pay each time you click on their ad anywhere from one cent to several dollars or more depending on the popularity on the subject and the competition.

Keys to remember

One of the main keys to success with adsense is to target the highest paying words that people may search for and hence, click on. You may design an ad around "cars" but find that people are leaving your pages too quickly because you offer car polish or something more specific than just "cars".

Try to narrow down the list of words you use and design and ad and a page around just those words in order to get the best result. If you offer car polish, make an ad that targets car polish, not just cars. Unless you can afford all of the irrelevant traffic and money that you will spend by people coming to your site and leaving right away.

If your product is even more specific than car polish; say car polish for antique cars (is there such a thing? I don't know) than you would make an ad which reflects car polish for antique cars. Now you get the idea. You want targeted people coming to your site that are looking for what you have to sell, not people just looking. After all you are paying to have them come to your site, so be as specific as possible.
